For over 25 years I've been working at the intersection of journalism practice and academia, translating research into practical newsroom solutions that strengthen trust in media and democratic institutions. 

My expertise spans investigative journalism, editorial standards and ethical decision-making, newsroom leadership, verification, inclusive editorial practice and cross-cultural collaboration. Having worked across public and commercial media, academia and international organisations, I understand both the realities of editorial decision-making and the systems that shape it.

My current focus is on information integrity and practical responses to misinformation, disinformation, and declining institutional trust. I'm particularly interested in verification standards and practices, media literacy, and ethical leadership, as well as how greater transparency and accountability within media and public institutions can strengthen audience trust.
